About Ashford Beekeepers

Ashford Beekeepers was formed by a number of like-minded individuals who share a passion for bees and the craft of beekeeping.  We are a branch of the Kent Beekeepers Association (KBKA) which is an affiliated member of the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA).

We have just celebrated 100 years of beekeeping in Ashford.  The club was formed in 1919 and held its first AGM in 1920, when there were 40 members.

The aim of the club is to promote best practice and to encourage and assist members to take up the craft, whilst striving to educate members of the public with regards to the importance of protecting honeybees for our future on this planet.

The club is very beginner friendly and has its own apiary in Rucking near Ashford, which is where meetings are held in the summer months.

Our Apiary

The Ashford Beekeepers have an apiary, where, in spring and summer months, meetings and training take place.  The apiary is situated in beautiful surroundings in Ruckinge and has a large club house.  The Apiary is managed by Michael Lindsay.

We hold meetings here from April to September.

The address is Noakes Barn, Ash Hill, Ruckinge, TN26 2PE.
